We offer the following free services, which require some type of voluntary submission of personal information by users:

1. Electronic newsletters (Dispatches)

We will offer a free electronic newsletter to users. ToySoldierCentral.com gathers the email addresses of users who voluntarily subscribe. Users who make a purchase on this website will automatically join the free electronic newsletter. Users may remove themselves from this mailing list by following the link provided in every newsletter that points users to the subscription management page. Users can also unsubscribe by sending a manual request for removal via our contact page. Users can also subscribe to the newsletters at the time of registration.

2. Message boards/forums

Users of the site’s Message Boards and Forums must register separately for these services (both are free of charge) in order to post messages, although they needn’t register to visit the site. During registration, the user is required to supply a username, password, and email address.

3. “E-mail this to a friend” Service

Our site users can choose to electronically forward a link, page, or documents to someone else by clicking “e-mail this to a friend”. The user must provide their email address, as well as that of the recipient. This information is used only in the case of transmission errors and, of course, to let the recipient know who sent the email. The information is not used for any other purpose.

4. Polling

We may offer interactive polls to users so they can easily share their opinions with other users and see what our audience thinks about important issues. Opinions or other responses to polls are aggregated and are not identifiable to any particular user. ToySoldierCentral.com may use a system to “tag” users after they have voted, so they can vote only once on a particular question. This tag is not correlated with information about individual users.

5. Surveys

ToySoldierCentral.com may occasionally conduct user surveys to better target our content to our audience. Customers consent to receive invitations to review their orders. We sometimes share the aggregated demographic information in these surveys with our sponsors, advertisers and partners. We never share any of this information about specific individuals with any third party.

Children:

Consistent with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 (COPPA), we will never knowingly request personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without requesting parental consent.

Usage tracking:

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand visits and shopping activity and to improve our website. Analytics information can include pages visited, referring links, browser and device information, approximate location, and shopping events such as product views, cart changes, checkout steps and purchases. Shopping-event payloads use product identifiers, product details, order identifiers and amounts; customer contact and payment-card fields are not part of those configured event payloads.

Google Analytics uses identifiers stored in first-party cookies to distinguish browsers and visits and can associate activity on this site with the same browser. These identifiers do not make the activity anonymous. Google receives and processes the Analytics data. Google Analytics is optional. It starts only after you enable Google Analytics in our cookie banner or select Accept optional cookies. You can reject it and continue shopping, or change your choice using the Show Privacy Options Tab button at the top of this page. Withdrawing Analytics permission stops future collection through this integration and removes its Analytics cookies from this browser. Changing an existing Analytics choice to off refreshes the page, so save any unfinished form entries first. Withdrawal does not erase information already collected.

Separately, if you enable Store attribution, WooCommerce uses first-party session cookies to record how you reached our store, including referring sources and campaign information, device type and pages viewed during that session. If you place an order, this information is saved with the order to help us understand which sources lead to purchases. This native store feature is separate from Google Analytics. You can choose Google Analytics and Store attribution independently, reject either or both and still shop, and change either choice using the Show Privacy Options Tab button at the top of this page. Turning off Store attribution stops that session tracking and clears its attribution cookies; it does not delete attribution already saved with an order.

Comments:

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media:

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data:

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
